SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

For some of us the underpinnings of this time of year are religious, for others secular. For everyone it’s the end of another year gifted us. It’s not the time to rail but to reflect on the blessings we have. At the moment, for me, it’s it’s having my wife at my side and the brief but cherished return of the children to the empty nest.

Whatever your beliefs or ideology, ‘tis the season not for politics or debates on the merits of “Merry Christmas” versus “Happy Holidays,” or Nativity scenes in the public square. It’s the time to focus on the blessings we have.

So, for the moment, let’s not obsess on falling off the fiscal cliff, but falling into the arms of those we love. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
